Adding Products To Workflows In VisualDLP

    What You’ll Need

    You should have already read the article Workflow Basics before following the steps below.   You should have already created the workflow you want to add a product to before following the steps below.  You will also need to know which Workflows a Product can follow through the lab.   It is probable that a product may have more than one workflow depending on production technique.


    1. Log into VisualDLP as an Admin user then from the Dashboard, click on the Order Management Module.
    2. Click on Production/Workflows and Search for the Workflow you are adding products to and click it.
    3. Click on the Products Tab
    4. In the field labeled “Type The Product Name To Add” enter the the name or part of the name of the product you are adding to the workflow.
    5. From the search results, click on the name of the product you want to add.
    6. Click on the Add Product button.
    7. If this Workflow is the default Workflow for the product you added, click on the menu icon on the far right of the Product record you just added, and select “Set As Default”
    8. This Workflow is now an option on Order Entry when you add this product to an Order.



    A product may follow several paths through the lab as its being manufactuered.  Workflows are those paths.   If a product can have options, then you can create mutltiple workflows and assign that product to each workflow.
